Nelson Admitting Defeat?

First Ben Nelson tried to say that the backlash against him for providing the 60th vote for the repugnant Senate health care bill was staged. Now it appears he realizes that he is in serious trouble in 2012 for reelection.

Click here for story: Beleaguered Nelson to air TV ad tonight

I love it! If this was just a small group making a loud noise as Nelson originally claimed, then why is he taking his case straight to his constituents? (His original quote about the backlash was: ""This is all orchestrated...It's so thinly disguised ... it's almost laughable.")

Could this be the reason?

The political damage Nelson may have incurred in providing the critical 60th vote that cleared the way for Senate passage of the health care reform bill showed up Tuesday in a poll released by Rasmussen Reports.

The telephone survey of 500 Nebraskans, conducted Monday, suggested Republican Gov. Dave Heineman would defeat Nelson in a potential 2012 Senate race by a 61-30 margin.

Uh oh, Ben's in trouble. He is lucky in that he doesn't have to defend his seat this coming year, but in 2012. Still, you know the Republican candidate will be all over this like flies on a carcass. Ben Nelson may very well have compromised his job to give Hairy Reid and Obama their bill.

Let's hope some other Democrats in both houses learn a lesson from Ben's break with what his constituents wanted. Then again, this is exactly what those constituents get for electing a spineless little weasel like Ben Nelson.

Too Funny Not To Share: Dave Barry's 2009 Year In Review

I have always been a fan of Dave Barry, and this year in review is exactly why. Humorous, insightful, and even downright dead on.

Click here: Dave Barry's Year In Review: 2009

That is too funny. Some "laugh out loud" highlights:
In crippled U.S. auto giant news, General Motors announces a new business plan under which it will fire everybody but Howie Long, who will continue to make what GM calls ``some of the most popular commercials on the market.'' Meanwhile Chrysler, looking to the future, invests $114 million in an Amway distributorship.
. . . when pop superstar Michael Jackson dies, setting off an orgy of frowny-face TV-newsperson fake somberness the likes of which has not been seen since the Princess Diana Grief-a-Palooza. At one point experts estimate that the major networks are using the word the word ``icon'' a combined total of 850 times per hour. Larry King devotes several weeks to in-depth coverage of this story, during which he conducts what is believed to be the first-ever in-casket interview; this triumph is marred only slightly by the fact that the venerable TV personality apparently believes he is talking to Bette Midler.

On the economic front, California is caught on videotape attempting to shoplift 17,000 taxpayers from Nevada. General Motors files for bankruptcy and announces a new sales strategy under which it will go around at night leaving cars in people's driveways, then sprinting away.
In government news, top Washington thinkers, looking for a way to goose the economy along, come up with the ``Cash for Clunkers'' program, under which the federal government provides a financial inducement for people to take functional cars, which are mostly American-made, to car dealers, who deliberately destroy these cars and sell the people new replacement cars, which are mostly foreign-made. This program, which was budgeted for $1 billion, ends up costing $3 billion and is halted after a month. The administration declares that it has been a huge success, which everybody understands to mean that it will never, ever be repeated.

In The End, No Matter How Principled They May Be, Democrats Can Be Bought

Click here for story: Neb.'s Nelson sees backlash on health reform plan

Democratic Senator Nelson isn't as principled as first thought. Nelson considers himself pro-life, yet he is willing to allow taxpayers to fund abortions for others, despite saying he would not. Why? He was bought:
Despite the perks Nelson managed to garner for Nebraska in finally agreeing to support the overhaul bill, the backlash from those who wanted Nelson to hold a hard line against the measure was immediate.
Apparently, he was also threatened:
Nelson isn't taking the backlash lying down.

"This is all orchestrated," Nelson said Sunday. "It's so thinly disguised ... it's almost laughable.

"So far, the focus seems to have been on some people who are angry. They're ignoring the fact that not only were there good reasons to do what I did, but that there would have been a backlash the other way."
Notice this line: "They're ignoring the fact that not only were there good reasons to do what I did, but that there would have been a backlash the other way."

What backlash? Harry Reid would have made sure that Nelson was never appointed to key Senate committees? Maybe the DNC would have withheld funding for Nelson's future reelection campaigns? What was the backlash that he was referring to?

The problem isn't that Nelson went with his anti-life counterparts in the senate, but that he claims to be pro-life while doing so. Nelson is a Benedict Arnold to the unborn. Judas Iscariot would be pleased with Nelson's decision to allow the blood of the unborn to flow for "thirty pieces of silver".

Nelson might be quick to point out that one of the compromises was to allow states to determine whether abortions were funded or not. But federal taxes are national, and if I pay taxes that go to abortions in California I still have a problem with that. Apparently Nelson has no problem with that. He thinks that Nebraskans will be satisfied with not funding abortions in Nebraska despite funding abortions in other states. After all, Nebraskans pay federal taxes too.

Nelson isn't principled. He is a teenager that allowed peer pressure in the form of subsidies, funding, and bully tactics to make him give up his pro-life stance. He is a turncoat at worst, and a coward at best. I think that he is probably both. Now it is up to Nebraska to make sure he doesn't represent their state after his next reelection bid. If he thinks this backlash is orchestrated, Nebraskans should prove just how grass-roots it really is at the polls.

Ben Nelson will clown for you too! Just pay him enough and he'll perform abortions for you.

Karl Rove Sets The Record Straight: Obama No B+

Karl Rove tells it like it is!

Click here: Karl Rove: The President Is No B+

Notice how Rove picks apart each of Obama's self-proclaimed victories? And in that light they aren't victories at all. Obama is a charlatan. He is a ruse. He was elected merely for what he looked like, and his lack of substance is proving that.

Rove points out the holes in Obama's self-imposed B+ grade. He exposes Obama for what he is: a liar that talks big and doesn't back it up.

Obama gave himself a B+, while the rest of us give him a F-.

Want An Example Of Left-Wing Liberal Drivel? Read This Detroit News Article

Click here: Lax home-school laws put kids at risk

This kind of junk reporting is exactly why the Detroit News, and their joint operating partner, the Detroit Free Press, have one foot in the grave. Notice that this is their main, front page story. This home-schooling smear piece is the type of liberal trash that mainstream media news sources have been producing for years. The writer of this article should be ashamed of himself for such a blatantly biased, ignorant, and unfounded article.

Note the details of the case: Even when the child that is highlighted in this piece of drivel was enrolled in public school, they were being abused. Being in the public school system did nothing to help or protect this child.

The writer uses this tragic case of abuse to cast dispersions on all home-schoolers. Note this piece of opinionated drivel:
College professors can teach their children at home, but so can the illiterate; church deacons can home school, as can convicted murderers.

Ahh, see what he did here. A subtle but subconscious effort to link home-schoolers to illiterate murderers. It is as if this writer is suggesting that all public school teachers are the brightest and best, while at the same time being complete law-abiders. Never mind all of the news accounts of teachers sleeping with students in public schools, no we bury those on page 12. Meanwhile, one set of criminal parents lie about home-schooling their abused daughter, and now all home-schoolers are lying child abusers that might be illiterate and/or murderers.

Now I am not suggesting that all or even a majority of public school teachers are bad people. I am not. But I am willing to go out on a limb and say that there are a higher percentage of bad public school teachers than there are bad home-schooling parents. Yet this writer indicts all home-school parents while giving a free pass to public education.

What is really at work here? I'll tell you what it is, it is 72,000 Michigan home-schooled kids that are beyond the reach of the public indoctrination that many of our state's schools impose on kids. And don't let the economics fool you either. A large part of that 72,000 kids would be in public schools if home-schooling were outlawed. That is a lot of state funding that the public schools are missing out on. Liberals never like to leave public tax money on the table.

The fact is that home-schooled children consistently out perform public school children. Further, if a study were done on the subject I believe it would show that a higher percentage of public school children are abused by their parents than home-schooled children are. No mention of that in this liberal piece of crap that is being passed off as an article.

Liberals love using tragedies and crises to advance their agenda. Never mind facts. Never mind the truth. Never mind that the vast majority of home-school homes have concerned, caring parents that want nothing less than what is best for their children. Meantime, a lot of parents drop their kids off every day at public schools, happily, because that is another day that they don't have to pay for daycare. The sad reality is that the vast majority of our nation's children are being institutionalized in daycares and public schools pretty much from birth, and that tragedy is completely ignored by the mainstream media.

And for those that read this and get defensive of public schools, save it. This is not an attack on public schools as much as it is a defense of home-schooling. Public schools, private schools, and home-schooling can coexist. Each is not for everyone, but they all should be allowed to exist. That liberals can't leave their mitts off of home-schooling is the real issue here.

OOPS! Energy Efficient Traffic Lights Cause Accidents!

In the law of unintended consequences segment we have this gem! You can't make this stuff up.

Click here: Energy Saving LED Stoplights Freeze Over

What is a little death and mayhem when you are being energy efficient and saving the environment? In fact, isn't that and envirnowhacko's goal? To kill as many humans as possible thereby saving their deity the earth?

For every decision there are consequences, and all factors should be weighed before just assuming that an environmentally sound decision is a good decision.

The result of energy efficient LED traffic lights. Well done environwhackos!

Private Health Care Meeting Violates Obama's Own Pledge

Last year during his campaign, Obama repeatedly said he would have the health care debate out in the open and "televised on C-Span". That's right, he promised the American people that the debate would be done publicly with no private meetings and discussions.

The Democrats have been going behind closed doors to broker deals and put things into their bills since the beginning of this health care push. Then yesterday Obama called a closed-door meeting for all 60 Democratic members of the Senate.

Click here: Obama: Health care is near after closed-door meeting

Ask yourself, is that open and public debate? Where was the C-Span coverage that Obama promised during his campaign last year?

This guy is a liar. He can't be trusted. And the American people need to make sure this thing is killed and killed fast.

This isn't hope and change, this is more of the same as Washington does business as usual.

"I lie. You lie. We all lie."

This Is Why You Never Allow The Student To Grade Their Own Work

Click here: Obama grades himself a B+

While most people with even a shred of sense would give Obama a F, or at the most an Incomplete, Obama is humble enough to grade himself a "good, solid B+".

Now, even though Obama has an ego the size of Alaska he was able, despite the obvious hero worship by Oprah, to keep from grading himself an A+. Of course, any student that knew they were failing might go for a lesser grade for the sake of trying sneak one through.

Luckily, the American people have been paying attention. More and more of those that vote are starting to show Obama what grade he really deserves:

Click here: New low in Obama approval rating

I am sure the B+ Obama administration will respond to that approval rating by once again comparing pollsters to kids with crayons. As if the pollsters are really just hurdling insults at Obama instead of pulling together scientific polling data. Obama's B+ reaction? "I know you are but what am I."

Well people, this is what you get when you elect a guy based on what he looks like instead of on his qualifications (which he had little) or his character (which he had none of).

Matt Damon: Mandela Greatest Political Leader Of Our Lifetime

Thanks Matt, but I do have a question. WHO CARES WHAT YOU THINK? My goodness this guy has an ego the size of Barack Obama's. Maybe bigger. No one cares what you think Matt. You pretend to be other people for a living, and you are not very good at it either. Why would anyone care who Damon thinks was a great leader? Besides, he isn't even right about it.

There are plenty of other great leaders. Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan are two off the top of my head. I respect Mandela but I don't think he was the greatest political leader of our lifetime.

Matt Damon just needs to go about promoting his movie, Invictus, and be quiet about politics. I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan (directed the movie), but I won't be seeing this movie because of his decision to cast Damon. They won't be getting any of my money.

Algore Not Just An Idiot, But A Liar Too

Click here: Climategate: Gore falsifies the record

Algore is a liar.

Q: How damaging to your argument was the disclosure of e-mails from the Climate Research Unit at East Anglia University?

A: To paraphrase Shakespeare, it’s sound and fury signifying nothing. I haven’t read all the e-mails, but the most recent one is more than 10 years old. These private exchanges between these scientists do not in any way cause any question about the scientific consensus.

Q: There is a sense in these e-mails, though, that data was hidden and hoarded, which is the opposite of the case you make [in your book] about having an open and fair debate.

A: I think it’s been taken wildly out of context. The discussion you’re referring to was about two papers that two of these scientists felt shouldn’t be accepted as part of the IPCC report. Both of them, in fact, were included, referenced, and discussed. So an e-mail exchange more than 10 years ago including somebody’s opinion that a particular study isn’t any good is one thing, but the fact that the study ended up being included and discussed anyway is a more powerful comment on what the result of the scientific process really is.

These people are examining what they can or should do to deal with the P.R. dimensions of this, but where the scientific consensus is concerned, it’s completely unchanged. What we’re seeing is a set of changes worldwide that just make this discussion over 10-year-old e-mails kind of silly.

Here is the best part:

In fact, as Watts Up With That shows, one Climategate email was from just two months ago. The most recent was sent on November 12 - just a month ago. The emails which have Tom Wigley seeming (to me) to choke on the deceit are all from this year. Phil Jones’ infamous email urging other Climategate scientists to delete emails is from last year.

So add liar to the growing list of what Algore really is. Coward? (won't debate) Already on the list. Profiteer? (making money hand over fist on the GW crap) Already on the list. Unrepresentative of the truth? (all of the bad information in his movie and book) Already there. And now cold-blooded, out-and-out, direct to a person, liar.

Algore, you are a sickening, disgusting, and repulsively sad, excuse of a human-being.

Hairy Reid Defends His Slavery Comment

Click here: Reid doubles down on slavery analogy

Imagine if a GOP Senate majority leader said something like this, and then refused to apologize for it. What do you honestly think would have occurred? The left is not only incendiary, but they are not remorseful for the things that they say and do that are divisive.

If Hairy Reid had a shred of integrity not only would he apologize, but he'd step down as majority leader. Unfortunately, Hairy Reid and integrity are not two subjects that belong in the same sentence.

Head Spinning Times Right Now

It really is amazing everything that is going on. In fact, it is hard to keep up with politics at the moment. Let's recap some of the current political news stories that are going on:
  • Health care reform
  • Climategate
  • Copenhagen global warming conference
  • Obama's Stimulus 2
  • John Conyers blasting Obama, Obama confronting Conyers for "demeaning" Obama
  • Sarah Palin's book
  • Obama's approval rating
So rather than give my own take on all of these, I will link to the latest stories related to these issues:

Health Care Reform

Climategate and Copenhagen global warming summit

Obama's stimulus 2

Conyers and Obama in lovers' quarrel

Sarah Palin's book

Obama's approval rating

I could comment on so much of this, yet so much of it is self-explanatory. The bottom line is that the left is losing its grip. And as that happens they are trying harder and harder to enact anti-American, socialist policies before they lose their power to do so. It is a critical time in our country's history right now. If we don't take a political stand now, it may mean having to take an armed stand later.

Hairy Reid (sic): If You Are Opposed To Government Health Care Then You Are Pro-Slavery

In the "you can't make this stuff up" segment, Hairy Reid has decided to play the old ace-in-the-hole of the Democratic party. When ever the Democrats can't get what they want they resort to crying racism. Hairy Reid has just lowered the debate into the mud pit with his latest proclamation:

Click here: Reid Compares Opponents of Health Care Reform to Supporters of Slavery

Most people realize that Hairy Reid isn't the smartest cookie in the package, but he may be the most devious. While his counterpart in the House (Nance Pelosi) usually will resort to the lowest common denominator in her plot for world domination, Hairy Reid is proving even more adept at it.

Hairy's ploy is simple: paint health care opponents as racists in an effort to undermine their coalition. Hairy makes the common Democratic mistake: he assumes that since the Democrats are for it, then all black Americans must be for it too. Hairy is the real racist here since he can't see black Americans as individuals, but as a collective that move around as one giant mass, and are unable to think for themselves.

This is a common form of racism with the left. The left just take black Americans for granted. They believe that black Americans are incapable of thinking for themselves. They assume that if one black person is for something, then all black people must be for that thing. The left is far more racist than the right because they see a person's skin color and immediately assume that they know what those black Americans want, need, and think. Yet we on the right are painted in the mainstream media as the racists.

I have several black friends. While some of them are and always will be Democrats, many of them are conservative socially and fiscally. They think for themselves and do not bow down at the altar of the Democrats. Black Americans, despite what the left believes, are completely capable of forming their own opinions on a variety of issues. They see that the Democrats, despite their promises, have been keeping black Americans feeling oppressed in order to garner their support by publicly making shows of support. It is one of the most disgusting things I have witnessed since I have become politically aware.

So Hairy Reid is going to that well once again. The MSM will continue to help him in this cause. I have more faith in all Americans, whether white or black or other, to see through this and realize that it is Hairy that is being the racist.

Head Of Comcast Endorses Obamacare To Get NBC Merger Approved

This is disgusting.

Click here: A day after NBC merger announced, Comcast Head Endorses Obamacare

This really ticks me off. What is even more upsetting is that I have no alternative but to be a Comcast customer because no one else offers high-speed internet in my area. If I had a choice I would drop Comcast today.

This kind of thing has to stop. The government cannot be trusted when political favors and buy-offs are so common place. That is what Obama's entire agenda is made up of.

CommieCast may not just be a clever nickname after all.

One Man's Opinion.....

A local sports columnist, Joe Falls (RIP), used to do these columns occasionally where he'd share a brief opinion on a variety of topics. I've always wanted to do something similar so today is the day. Some of these may be longer, others may be shorter. But all will be MY opinion as I wax philosophical on several, diverse topics.
  • One of my former coworkers has dedicated his blog to writing about comic books. He even wrote a book on his "rebirth" as a comic book fan in adulthood. I say bully for him, different strokes for different folks. I still get nostalgic thumbing through the comic collection of my youth, but have not had any desire to rekindle that fire. In fact, occasionally looking at today's modern comics at book stores has cemented the fact that I am, and always will be, a former comic fan. Too much has changed in the industry since the heyday of the 80s. I haven't been fond of many of the changes, including the cover price. How kids today can afford to buy the number of comics I used to buy on a weekly basis is beyond me. My comic book enjoyment will from henceforth be limited to watching the comic heroes of my youth come alive on the silver screen.
  • Imagine for a moment if you will, that emails from an expert source, on any number of subjects, proved a bias in promoting one viewpoint on the given subject despite what the true evidence suggested. Say the emails showed an effort to prove guns were used more for personal protection than for crime. Or that cigarettes weren't as bad for you as some claim. Or maybe that some enemy of the United States had a stockpile of WMDs. The mainstream media would jump on those emails and make it national news for weeks, if not months. Yet when there are emails showing a bias toward something like, say global warming, the MSM goes into a shell hoping we aren't paying attention. Sickening.
  • 68 years ago the Japanese launched a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. Much like September 11th, we should NEVER forget. Many gave their lives to protect this country's freedoms. They deserve all the respect that we can pay them and more.
  • The fact that health care is still being debated is unconscionable. Every opinion poll taken on it proves that the majority of the Americans are against government-run health care. Yet Obama and his minions are bent on getting it passed. Much like the stimulus, it is nothing more than political favors for getting him elected. The Obama attitude? Who cares what the American people want if it will forward his ideological agenda. Double sickening.
  • November 2010 can't get here soon enough. Nuff said..........
  • The new Motorola Droid cellphone looks phenomenal. If I wasn't such a tightwad I would buy one with a data and web plan. But instead I will keep my 3 year-old phone, with only the ability to make and receive calls. After all, that is what cellphones are for.
  • My luck in deer hunting has run out. After several years of seeing deer every time I went into the woods, this year I haven't been seeing deer at all. I did get a doe early in bow season, but since then have been skunked. The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away.
  • As the holidays approach, I find myself listening to the radio stations that play holiday music 24/7. Maybe it is an age thing, I don't know, but I can't get enough! On that note, have a holly, jolly Christmas, it's the best time of the year!

Dear Al, We Want Your Oscar Back!

Great story! Two Academy members are requesting that Algore's Oscar be taken away.

Take back Al Gore's Oscar, 2 Academy members demand in light of Climategate
But two Hollywood conservatives (yes, there are some) have called upon the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to rescind the prestigious, profitable gold Oscar statuette that it gave ex-Vice President Al Gore two years ago for the environmental movie "An Inconvenient Truth."

Roger L. Simon and Lionel Chetwynd, both Academy members, are among a small, meandering pack of known political conservatives still believed to be on the loose in the liberal bastion of movie-making.
This is a great idea. Now, thanks to Climategate, that we know global warming is a farce, Algore's Inconvenient Truth is based on lies and faulty science. If Algore had a shred of integrity he would give it back. But we all know that he doesn't, so the Academy should take it back by force.

Of course the liberals in the Academy won't do that either, but at least the thought is out there.

The Terminator Proves, Once Again, That He Is A Liberal

And an environwhacko liberal at that. I mean, the first clue was that he was a Hollywood actor. Second clue was that he married a Kennedy. Third clue is that he doesn't care about innocent lives being ripped from their mother's wombs.

Now he has put a nail in his conservative coffin.

How he could fall for this hoax, just over a week after Climategate, is beyond me. It shows that while fiscally he may be somewhat conservative, he is firmly in the RINO camp. He is a Republican in name only, while talking and acting all the time like a Democrat. That is the only reason Maria has stuck with him despite his claims that he is a Republican.

Dear RNC, please keep this guy off the speakers list in the future. Thanks in advance.

Barbara Boxer Is An Idiot

Click here for story: Boxer: Hackers should face criminal probe over 'Climategate'

As I said in an earlier post, environwhackos will look at Climategate differently than right-thinking people. Reasonable people want the truth. If global warming is occurring and there is evidence it is man-made, we want to know that. We want to know if it isn't really occurring or if it is caused by natural occurrences as well.

Environwhackos like Barbara Boxer don't care about the truth. Boxer has a hit-list of environmental changes she wants enacted. Global warming was the fear mechanism she saw as enabling her and her ilk to push through such an agenda. Things like outlawing fireplaces, outlawing the internal combustion engine in any form, and charging taxes on Americans' "carbon footprint".

So it should be no surprise that she reacts by attacking the whistle-blowers and not the crooked scientists that faked data to "prove" global warming. Her ideology drives her, not truth and justice. If lying about global warming will allow her to do what she wants with environmental legislation then she doesn't care if it is really happening or not.

That she is unhappy that the fraud that is global warming has been revealed is not shocking. Now she is in spin mode, trying to divert from the actual truth here. Regardless of how the plot was exposed, it was exposed. She is unhappy that something she could have used to her benefit has been taken away.

That liberals don't care about the truth is nothing new. That these idiots are now so blatant about it is new. That is why November 2010 cannot get here fast enough.

From Shivers Up His Leg To "West Point is an enemy camp"

Chris Matthews isn't the best in the business. He has proven that multiple times. First was his infamous "shiver up my leg" comment. Now this:

Rarely Has So Much Been Said...........

.........with one word. And a picture. Though a picture is worth a thousand words.

When Confronted With Evidence To The Contrary, Obama Sticks To Ideology

That this guy is an ideologue can no longer be questioned. All you have to do is look at his record to see that he is faithful to his ideology on almost every topic.

Despite evidence that private gun ownership prevents crime, Obama's hometown of Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. Despite evidence that Hugo Chavez hates America, Obama is chummy with the dictator, and accepts from Chavez an anti-American book as a gift. Despite evidence that deficit spending is a threat to our economic future, Obama continues to practice tax-and-spend at an unprecedented rate.

Now the final nail in the "Obama isn't an ideologue" argument: despite evidence that global warming is a trumped up phenomenon, Obama is sticking to his "global warming is happening" ideology.

Click here for story: Gibbs: Despite research dispute, 'climate change is happening'

Here are the facts:
  • The earth is currently in a cooling trend
  • Even at its most recent warmest, the earth was still cooler than it was 1,000 years ago
  • Sun spots, not CO2 levels, are responsible for the most recent warming
  • Global temperature data was purposely manipulated to show the earth was warming more than it was (and disproving the global warming theorist's best weapon: the hockey stick graph)
Yet the Obama administration is maintaining that warming is "happening"???
Despite the incident, which rocked international headlines last week, climate science is sound, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs stressed this afternoon, and the White House nonetheless believes "climate change is happening."

"I don't think that's anything that is, quite frankly, among most people, in dispute anymore," he said during Monday's press briefing.
Huh? Sound? Sound would mean that no deceit had taken place and the data was accurate and unadulterated. That isn't the case. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Obama, at a minimum, should be questioning the science that global warming is based on, not writing off the intentional manipulation of that data.

It is amazing to watch how liberals are reacting to this out-and-out misleading. Instead of admitting they've been duped they instead circle the wagons and try to explain away the truth. Basing their conclusions on falsehoods should be enough to shake them from their current path if they were truly being intellectually honest.

That they are trying to make excuses shows that they are interested only in the environmental policy changes they want to implement. They don't want to alter people's behavior based on global warming. No, they want to alter people's behavior, and if global warming is the fear mechanism they can use to do so then that is what they will use.

That is the real crux of the issue. Global warming is a hoax, there is no longer any doubt of that. That liberals want to cram cap-and-trade, electric cars, and making fireplaces illegal down the throats of society is the real issue. Global warming was the excuse they were using to try to enact such draconian environmental laws. It is now evident that they aren't going to give up their one ace in the hole, global warming, that easily.

Right-thinking, reasonable people have won out in this debate. The environmental movement, and the mainstream media just haven't come to terms with it yet.

When Liberals Turn On Liberals!

This makes me laugh, though I am not sure why. Here you go:

Click here: Former Playboy Bunnies Turned Animal Rights Activists Blast Obama

But the Barbi twins and Shane’s hubby, actor Ken Wahl, also have a pretty powerful bone to pick with the President and the fact he picked a pound puppy over the Kennedy’s “gift” of a Portuguese water dog (SIC).

“Obama didn’t even have to say a word; all he had to do was get an animal out of the pound. It would have been no effort on his part but it would have spoken volumes. He should have led by example which is what a good president is supposed to do. Everyone was disappointed, he could have used discretion and taken the Kennedy puppy privately and taken the pound puppy publicly.”

And the action has apparently caused many animal lovers to totally re-evaluate their political stance.

“He's got such a big following, he doesn’t realize how big the animal community is so you can image how disappointed everyone is. I know so many Democrats that have gone republican just from that one move and he didn’t keep to his word. My good friend Jana Kohl (Sen. Herb Kohl's niece) very much campaigned for Obama and brought the whole animal community behind him. She got a photo with him and her pound puppy, so she was very disappointed when he didn’t get one,” Shane continued. “The Democrats have been very discouraging toward a lot of animal issues, I’m starting to open up the eyes of a lot of people, and it’s a money issue. I’ve seen a lot of Democrats let down the animal side because there is a big business and a lot of money to be made on the liberal side of animal extortion.”

This is too funny to me. Liberals turn on liberals over their choice of a puppy??!? And I get attacked because I won't do business with pro-Obama companies. Then again, consistency was never the forte of liberals.

Matt Damon Is An Idiot

I've decided to make this idiot feature a regular here at Steven's World. And today's idiot feature will star Matt Damon.

Damon is one of those rare Hollywood actors that really did graduate from high school. Okay that isn't what makes him an idiot. What makes Damon an idiot is that he is an idiot. Too simplistic? Well when it comes to Matty Damon simplistic should suffice. But I will be glad to expound.

What makes Matt a real idiot is this from last year's election:

I think there's a really good chance that Sarah Palin could be president, and I think that's a really scary thing. Because I don't know anything about her. I don't think in eight weeks I'm gonna know anything about her. I know that she was a mayor of a really, really small town, and she's governor of Alaska for less than two years. I just don't understand - I think the pick was made for political purposes, but in terms of governance, it's a disaster. You do the actuary tables, you know, there's a one out of three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn't survive his first term, and it'll be President Palin. And it really, you know, was talking about it earlier, it's like a really bad Disney movie. You know, the hockey mom, you know, "I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska," and she's the president. And it's like she's facing down Vladimir Putin and you know, using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink, you know, it's just absurd. It's totally absurd, and I don't understand why more people aren't talking about how absurd it is.'s a really terrifying possibility. The fact that we've gotten this far and we're that close to this being a reality is crazy. Crazy. I mean, did she really - I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago. That's an important - I want to know that. I really do. Because she's gonna have the nuclear codes. You know, I wanna know if she thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago, or if she banned books or tried to ban books. I mean, you know, we can't have that.

I have a question. What does believing in a young earth have to do with holding the nuclear codes? Seriously. What correlation is Damon trying to draw? That if you believe that the earth is less than 10,000 years old then you are going to push the button as president for no reason? This guy is an idiot.

Damon then raises the spectrum of Palin's banning books, an accusation leveled at her shortly after she was named John McCain's running mate. Ask Matt in private what he thinks should be done with books written by Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or Sean Hannity. Interesting how these morons are so pro free speech until it is speech they disagree with.

I also love the way Damon speaks as if it was a foregone conclusion that McCain was going to die, and that Palin would ascend to the presidency.

You do the actuary tables, you know, there's a one out of three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn't survive his first term, and it'll be President Palin.

33% chance according to actuarial tables. Remember, those do not take into account the health care that is given to a sitting president. The truth is that if you factor all factors in (not to mention what McCain had already survived in his life up to this point), the chance that McCain would die in 4 years was much less than 33%.

Of course, a brainiac like Damon doesn't care about facts. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a guy that attended Harvard and quit 12 credits shy of a degree. 12 credits. 3 classes. ARE YOU SERIOUS? That is like having a lead in the fourth quarter of the Superbowl, with 2 minutes left, and forfeiting! Yet this guy has the gall to question someone else's intelligence?

Why would Damon speak as if President Palin was a foregone conclusion? Simple. The politics of fear. He was playing the fear card. Scare people away from the McCain/Palin ticket, and get people, out of fear, to vote for Obama/Biden. Ahh yes, the liberals that bad mouthed Bush for scaring people into supporting two wars are happy to play the fear card themselves whenever it is convenient.

Damon also loves to try to throw out a big word or two to try to make himself sound more intelligent. "Actuary tables." Never mind that the proper term is 'actuarial tables'. Please. Matt, just because you played a genius in one of your movies doesn't mean you are one in real life.

But my favorite part is this:

I think there's a really good chance that Sarah Palin could be president, and I think that's a really scary thing. Because I don't know anything about her. I don't think in eight weeks I'm gonna know anything about her.

Hello! Barack Obama anyone? No one knew much about Obama, still do not know much about Obama, but ol' Matt here ran happily to the polls to cast his vote for Obama, and all without knowing much about him. Funny how he has no problem putting a label on one person, and to completely ignore the same qualities of another. The double standard is off the chart.

So Matt gets the idiot label for making, well, an idiot of himself. I can't wait until 2012 to hear more nuggets of wisdom from a guy that can't go more than 10 minutes of any movie he is in without using the F-word. Yeah, he is a real voice of moral clarity.

Steven Crowder Blows The Lid Off Of Guantanamo Bay!

Chairman Zero (Obama for those of you slow on the uptake) ran an election based on a message of hope and change. Who the hope was for, and what change, are still topics that are fiercely debated, but I digress. The key was that that he wanted to provide hope and bring a wind of change to America.

What has followed has been dashed hope, and the kind of change that we Americans do not want. Stimulus (read: political payoffs), Cap and Trade, National Health Care, Cash For Clunkers, multi-trillion deficits, etc. Not what we were hoping for in our change. In fact, if he had been honest he would have ran on "Hope For Government Money And Change Into Socialism", but honesty apparently isn't his strong suit.

Nothing is worse though than his handling of Nicaragua and Iran. In case you missed, Obama has been decidedly anti-Democracy in both of those countries' cases. One wanted to preserve their Democracy (Nicaragua) and the other started making overtures toward Democracy (Iran). In both cases Obama turned into the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, and essentially told both nations "NO HOPE AND CHANGE FOR YOU!"

In case you don't know what I am referring to with the Soup Nazi, here is a short video:

Apparently, Obama's hope and change is only for changing America into a socialistic nation, and not allowing other nations to change toward freedom.

Nicaragua had a president that decided he was bigger than the Nicaraguan constitution. He was eyeballing a Hugo Chavez type dictatorship. Nicaraguan's said "no thanks", quietly put him on a plane, and dethroned him peacefully.

Obama's reaction? "NO HOPE AND CHANGE FOR YOU!" Then his administration began to pressure the new administration of Nicaragua to put the dictator-wannabe back into power. Huh? A nation decides to remain free and Obama sides with the dictator?

Then there is Iran. Pseudo-elections were held in June and despite a wave of public outcry, Ahmadinejad, Iran's "president" (really their dictator) fixed the elections so that he would win in a landslide. Iranians reacted by holding mass protests, riots in some case, in a bid to overthrow the dictatorship and bring in Democracy.

Obama's reaction? "NO HOPE AND CHANGE FOR YOU!" Then his administration conveniently ignored the people of Iran and offered no solace. Offered no encouragement. Offered no help in toppling a radical regime with their sights set squarely on nuclear armament. Huh? A nation's people makes a play toward Democracy and Obama sides with the dictator?

Where is the outrage? Can we really have a president that would rather see a dictator remain in power, and a fellow Democracy converted to a dictatorship? Could this really be where we've come as a nation where we turn our backs on the oppressed? That we offer no consolation for those that want and demand freedom?

How anyone can defend Obama after not only what he has pulled in our nation, and then what he has done on the world stage (not just Nicaragua and Iran but his multiple "I am sorry about America" tours), is beyond me. The guy seems bent on destroying the America we all know and love, and his fellow ideologues in the media are content to try and cover for him.

WAKE UP AMERICA! Enough is enough.

Andre Agassi's Open

I finished it last night. Andre Agassi's Open is an incredible read. I found it impossible to put down. I picked it up less than two weeks ago, and even with a hunting trip during that time I managed to read the 385 page autobiography in less than 12 days.

Now admittedly I am a huge Agassi fan. As previously stated on this blog, I identified with him immediately. As a skinny, long-haired kid, it was easy to identify with a skinny, long-haired kid. I always felt somewhat of a kindred spirit with Agassi, but as I read this book the similarities between us were profound.

Agassi is less than a year younger than I am. We both experienced hair loss at a young age, which was exasperated by the fact that we both had our identity tangled up in our long hair. The excerpt of the book where Agassi details shaving his head mirrors my experience in getting my hair cut short for the first time.

I began shaving my head in the summer of 1994 after trying a hairpiece, which I immediately didn't like. Andre used a hairpiece, but in late 1994 was convinced by his girlfriend, Brooke Shields, to ditch the thing and shave his head. Just one of the many weird coincidental parallels between Andre's life and mine.

His early adult love relationship was very similar to my early adult love relationship. Both of our mothers are breast cancer survivors. There are many other parallels, too many to list here actually. Just suffice it to say that I really do identify with Andre on many levels.

Obviously, there are differences. I am devoutly Christian, while I get the sense that religion isn't Andre's thing. He still uses bad language, something I outgrew over a decade and a half ago. He is a Democrat, while I am a staunch conservative. The music Andre listens to I wouldn't be caught dead listening to (Barbra Streisand? Barry Manilow?!? Puke.)

Still, reading the book was a trip down memory lane. So many of the things that he writes about I remember. The matches he describes, I remember watching. Watching him win Wimbledon in 1992. Watching him win 2 U.S. Opens, and lose in the finals of others. The 2001 U.S. Open Quarterfinals against Pete Sampras, which I believe is the greatest tennis match in tennis history. (Sampras won in 4 sets, with all 4 sets going to a tiebreaker.) The incredible win against James Blake in the 2005 U.S. Open. And, of course, his final matches in the 2006 U.S. Open.

The amazing thing to me was that while taking this trip down memory lane, after all these years I got the inside scoop. What was Andre thinking? What advice did he receive from coaches, trainers, friends, and family? Did he really have mental collapses as it appeared to me as a TV viewer? What demons was he fighting? It was fascinating to get that inside scoop. Not only to relive what I remember, but to relive it as Andre told it, in his own words.

I have always admired Andre's philanthropy. One of the most generous athletes of our time, Andre describes in the book how he came to understand that helping others is important in life. It seems to me that here is another difference. While I agree it is important, Andre seems to think it is most important. That, of course, leaves God out of the equation. I only wish Andre could come to a knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ.

Still, his foundation and his charter school speak volumes about who Andre is. About his heart. Andre is a good guy, deep down. That he has been widely misunderstood for the last 2 decades is a shame. Hopefully this book, Open, can help people see who he really is. That he was just a young kid from Vegas that had talent and the work ethic to become one of the most successful tennis players of all time.

One thing I've discovered is that I was never really a tennis fan. I started watching because I like John McEnroe. I became a huge fan once I discovered Andre. I never could relate to Pete Sampras, he was too boring. Sampras to me was the American version of Ivan Lendl. Since Agassi's retirement in 2006 I haven't watched more than 1 minute of a pro tennis match. It turns out that I was never really a tennis fan, I was an Andre fan.

One of the things he says through the majority of the book is how he really hated tennis. But by the end of his career, Andre didn't want to quit. At the end of the book, he is playing tennis with Steffi (he calls her Stefanie). They have places to go and important things to do, but again he doesn't want to quit playing. By 2007, and for the last few years of his career, he seemed to have finally fallen in love with the game that made him the man he is today.

When Old Songs Change Meaning

I remember watching, in horror, in 1995 as the O.J. Simpson verdict was read. Not guilty. How? Everyone knew he did it. Even his own lawyers. The lyrics for Metallica's ...And Justice For All immediately hopped in my head. (Read those lyrics sometime and tell me if they don't perfectly describe the O.J. trial.) Even though the song had been out for 7 years, the O.J. trial gave new meaning to the song.

I had another moment of such clarity on my way to work this morning. I was listening to an album I hadn't listen to in years, Megadeth's 1992 album Countdown To Extinction. One of my favorite songs from that album is Symphony Of Destruction. I will share the lyrics and you can decide for yourself if it is apropos to anything currently going on in our nation.
Symphony Of Destruction lyrics
Songwriters: Mustaine, Dave;

You take a mortal man
And put him in control
Watch him become a god
Watch peoples heads a 'roll
A 'roll, a 'roll

Just like the pied piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like Marionettes
Swaying to the symphony of destruction

Acting like a robot
It's metal brain corrodes
You try to take its pulse
Before the head explodes
Explodes, explodes

Just like the pied piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like Marionettes
Swaying to the symphony

Just like the pied piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like Marionettes
Swaying to the symphony
Swaying to the symphony of destruction

The earth starts to rumble
World powers fall
A warring for the heavens
A peaceful man stands tall
Tall, tall

Just like the pied piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like Marionettes
Swaying to the symphony

Just like the pied piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like Marionettes
Swaying to the symphony
Swaying to the symphony of destruction

WHOA. Obama has people swaying to the symphony of destruction. Of course the destruction is of the United States we know and love. Dave Mustaine, the lead singer and songwriter for Megadeth, never intended for this song to talk about Obama. As a left-wing ideologue himself, Mustaine agrees with Obama on almost every issue. Yet he wrote a song, back in 1992, that talks perfectly about Obama as a destroyer of his own nation.

Meanwhile, the Marionettes sway to the symphony of destruction.

Oops, She Did It Again!

Norah O'Donnell proves her anti-Sarah Palin bias. Again. Here she is in Grand Rapids, MI this week, ambushing a 17 year-old high school student. Here is the video:

And here is a link to this young woman's blog about her run-in with O'Donnell.

Click here: The Day I Met Sarah Palin…and the Liberal Media

O'Donnell should be ashamed of herself. Of course, the liberal mainstream media has no shame. O'Donnell has proven this herself, time and time again. Especially when it comes to Palin. Why do they feel so threatened by Sarah?

Hat tip to theblogprof.

Who Threw The Monkey Wrench Into The Global Warming Machine?

Inquiring minds want to know that. But now climatologists are having to admit that the earth is no longer warming. UH OH! Just when Algore and his minions of mindless automatons were getting traction, along comes real science to disprove their little theory.

Click here: Climatologists Baffled by Global Warming Time-Out

Here are some of the most interesting pieces of the article, with my comments.

The planet's temperature curve rose sharply for almost 30 years, as global temperatures increased by an average of 0.7 degrees Celsius (1.25 degrees Fahrenheit) from the 1970s to the late 1990s. "At present, however, the warming is taking a break," confirms meteorologist Mojib Latif of the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences in the northern German city of Kiel. Latif, one of Germany's best-known climatologists, says that the temperature curve has reached a plateau. "There can be no argument about that," he says. "We have to face that fact."

I love how they can't bring themselves to say "it has stopped". They use phrases like "Time-Out" or "taking a break". As if they are hoping that the warming will resume again. That is the problem with these ideologues: they can't just let the science be what it is, they have to try and bend it to their own agenda.

Speaking of that, there is this from the article:

But a few scientists simply refuse to believe the British calculations. "Warming has continued in the last few years," says Stefan Rahmstorf of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). However, Rahmstorf is more or less alone in his view. Hamburg Max Planck Institute scientist Jochem Marotzke, on the other hand, says: "I hardly know any colleagues who would deny that it hasn't gotten warmer in recent years."

You got to love these guys. When temperatures were rising, at a rate of 1.25 degrees Fahrenheit over 30 years mind you, all we heard was chickenlittle, doomsday predictions. But as soon as the science shows that there is no longer any warming occurring, they dismiss the objective, real data, and "simply refuse to believe".

That is the difference in the "global warming believers" and the "global warming deniers". Believers want there to be warming, regardless of the science. Deniers have never denied the data that the earth was warming, they simply pointed out that the actual warming was less than the predicted warming. And that the cause could not be pinpointed to human activities.

"Perhaps we suggested too strongly in the past that the development will continue going up along a simple, straight line. In reality, phases of stagnation or even cooling are completely normal," says Latif.

You think? See this is their problem. They have attributed the warming to greenhouse gas emissions. Yet there are more greenhouse gas emissions today than there were at any point during the warming that occurred from the 1970's through the 1990's. Their hypothesis would suggest that warming should be accelerating, not decelerating, or even stopping altogether.

At a minimum, this lack of warming, or even cooling, proves that this is not a man-made phenomenon. That the earth warms and cools in cycles, regardless of what humans do or don't do, is now apparent. This fact is being met with skepticism for one reason and one reason only: it fails to provide the excuse they need for the radical changes they want to impose.

Algore and his minions were planning on using the fear over human-induced global warming to push through a radical agenda of changes. Carbon credits, fines for emissions, outlawing of internal combustion engines, etc. The lack of this fear that this lack of warming is now allowing for is jeopardizing those initiatives, and they have lost traction. The momentum is now swinging back the other way toward the direction of making sound economic decisions, and no longer worrying about global warming.

In the end, Algore sees the possible end of his meal ticket that he has enjoyed over the last 9 years. Since he lost the 2000 election, Algore has made a significant amount of money in promoting the idea of human-induced global warming. I have a feeling he won't give up that idea until it is pried from his cold (pun intended), dead hands.

John Conyers Is Stupid

To set this up you need to watch this video:

Click here for video: Dem Conyers Makes A Very Stupid Statement

Now it seems that everyone is concentrating on this statement:

"I'm getting tired of saving Obama's can in the White House"

Small potatoes. Seriously, that is minor compared to this next doozy.

"The public option.....which is the only way you'll manage costs and give some competition to 1300 other health insurance companies...."

Did he really just say that? Did he even hear what he said? This guy gets elected despite being about as smart as a piece of paper. And he marries very badly as well (if you are ever bored, do a google search on his wife, former Detroit Councilwoman Monica Conyers).

First of all, Johnny, the only way to manage costs is through competition. The public option has nothing to do with free market competition. The public option is a step towards a single payer system. The same system that is failing all over the world.

Secondly, 1300 other insurance companies are the VERY DEFINITION OF COMPETITION! How does this doofus not understand that? Instead of trying to get a public option, what your bill should be doing is making it easier for those 1300 insurance companies to compete with one another in each and every state in the nation! That is how you generate competition. Creating a government run, 1301st insurance company does nothing to generate more competition.

This is the essence of what we are up against in this fight. Elected officials that do not understand simple economic principles. Elected officials that think that government is the solution to all our problems, instead of realizing that government IS the problem.

Until voters toss out idiots like Conyers we will be stuck with the problems that exist today, with no real possibility for solutions in the future.

When You Bad Mouth My Wife Or Mother I Get Angry

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Ephesians 4:26

This is a tough scripture for me. I have always had a bit of a temper. It is like a pressure-cooker. It builds slowly, but if the pressure doesn't get released it might explode. As I have aged I have learned to control my anger much better. I've realized that reacting angrily in most situations is counterproductive: it doesn't change anything, and then I have to deal with the fallout of my outburst on top of the original situation.

So now I try to be angry and sin not. Being angry is not wrong in and of itself, it is what you do with that anger.

One area that I struggle with today is Sarah Palin. From the time I started to get to know Sarah after her being named John McCain's running mate, I began to identify with her. She was like my wife. She was like my mother. She was like most of the women in my life that I care about (aunts, cousins, sisters, sisters-in-Christ, etc). I felt like we finally had a woman in the national political spotlight that was representative of the women that I know and love. Unlike Nancy Pelosi, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barbara Boxer, Sarah was smart, articulate, and passionately conservative.

Then the badmouthing started. At first it didn't bother me, most election are like this. The opposing candidate and his VP running mate bad mouth your candidate and his running mate. But then it turned ugly.

I had a coworker start referring to Sarah as a "dumb -female dog-". I had another coworker, and ardent Obama supporter, saying that with McCain's age it scared her that Sarah could be one heartbeat away from the presidency. (Note: Community organizer Obama, Crazy Joe Biden, and Nancy The Wicked Witch Pelosi did nothing to bother her, despite that being the proposed chain of ascension).

I had a "friend" that badmouthed her, and when I told him that she reminded me of my wife his response was "no offense, but I don't want your wife as president or vice president, either". Really? Well I don't want you and your wife to set foot in my house ever again. (Sorry, like I said I get angry related to this topic!)

The truth is that when someone would badmouth Sarah Palin, in my eyes they were badmouthing my mom, my wife, and all the women in my life that I mentioned previously. Disagree with them all you like. Hate their pro-life stance, their religious beliefs, or even their hair style and glasses frames. No problem. Start calling them "dumb -female dog-", or stupid, or belittling their character and I turn into a rabid dog.

I mentioned this to the aforementioned coworkers, that it feels like they are belittling the women I care about because those women are very similar to Sarah. The reaction is not good. The ardent pro-Obama supporter, who also happens to be black, starts saying "I feel the same about Obama, when you badmouth him you are badmouthing all black people". Interesting, since I had never said anything about Obama the person, only his policies and beliefs. The distinction is lost completely on this "intellectual" of a coworker. (Note, she also a few days before this discussion was expounding on how Obama really wasn't very "black". Her words, not mine.)

The fact is that these Democrats couldn't badmouth Sarah's beliefs. They had to try to attack her very foundation as a person. "She shoots wolves from helicopters! Surely you don't support that." Actually I do. The wolf population in Alaska has to be controlled, this method of control predates Sarah Palin.

"She is a traitor to her gender." Why? Because she believes in the right that an unborn human has to life? I, and the women in my life, disagree with that. They think that any woman that would willingly rip that unborn child from their womb, and/or support others' rights to do so, is a traitor to their gender. At the least a traitor to motherhood.

All this has been bubbling and percolating in me for well over a year. Then yesterday I read this article:

Click here: AP Turns Heads for Devoting 11 Reporters to Palin Book 'Fact Check'

As the Drudge Report points out, they didn't even bother assigning 1 reporter to fact check Obama's book. I feel the anger returning.

Then I read a paragraph from the article like this: "Biden's book "Promises to Keep" became an instant best-seller when he was chosen to be Obama's running mate, but was not fact-checked by the AP and only received passing interest. In a story last year on Biden's Vietnam War draft deferments due to asthma, the reporter notes Biden didn't mention the malady in his book."

Breathe slowly in and out. Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth.

The media's treatment of Sarah for
the last 13 months has been unconscionable. I will never trust the mainstream media again. If ever there was a bias shown by the MSM, never was it more apparent than with Palin. From Charlie Goofball Gibson's loaded, ambushing questions, to Katie The Troll Couric's creative editing, the media proved that they had an axe to grind, and they were sharpening it at the expense of the character of a good, decent woman.

Sarah got the Dan Quayle treatment to the power of infinity. Heaven forbid she ever add the letter e to the end of a word like potato. The liberal-dominated media will always form a wagon circle around any candidate or politician they see as a threat. They want no more Ronald Reagans to render them powerless.

Since 1988 they have slowly advanced a leftist agenda in the vacuum that Reagan's absence left. They want to make sure no Quayle, nor Palin, nor any other true conservative ever step on all that they hold dear, which is everything America is the opposite of. So they cut these conservatives' legs out from under them before they can build any momentum.

In the meantime, we get a far-left, extremist, ideologue like Obama elected to the presidency. And no one better question him or you will be silenced with the label of racist applied across your forehead. What have we let our nation become?

Bad mouth Sarah, and you're walking on the fighting side of me.

Voting For Better People Works!

Imagine this. Obama has now done a 180 on cap-and-trade. Here is the story:

Click here: After spending binge, White House says it will focus on deficits

Here is my favorite part of the story:
The president's plan, which the officials said was under discussion before this month’s Democratic election setbacks, represents both a practical and a political calculation by this White House.

On the political side, Obama can help moderate Democrats avoid some tough votes in an election year and, perhaps more importantly, calm the nerves of independent voters who are voicing big concerns with the big spending and deficits.
That first part is a lie. No way would they be talking about dropping this legislation if Democrats had done well in this month's elections. The fact that two Democratic governors got blown out, and Democrats struggled in other areas as well, is what is driving this.

Voting out people that have left-wing agendas will force those that remain who hold to those same agendas to take notice. This is what was so great about these elections: they foretell what 2010's elections could have in store.

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama need to take a look at this month's elections and realize that they are in danger of losing their majority in 2010. That could have two effects.
  1. It could cause them to try and push through their radical agenda while they do have the majority. Or,
  2. It could cause them to temper their plans to try to make them appear less extreme.
The first option is risky at best. Their majority could collapse if moderate Democrats get cold feet and pull out of extreme initiatives like public health care, or cap and trade. The second option could work, but if not done properly it could still backfire. For instance, pushing through a public option in health care, even done at the same time as dropping cap and trade, could still draw the ire of independents and cause an anti-Democrat backlash in 2010.

No doubt the Democratic leadership will continue to push for radical, liberal legislation. To what extent they push, and how many types of legislation they push, will be interesting to witness in the year to come.

Still, this is proof that voting for better candidates, whether they be moderate or conservative Democrats or conservative Republicans, can only have a positive effect. The American people need to take notice of the effect this election is having and continue to vote accordingly in the elections to come.

Nancy Pelosi Wishes She Looked This Good

Seems Apple is a tad touchy. They recently rejected an App for the iPhone submitted by a conservative filmmaker because they said it ridiculed public figures. At issue were caricatures of congress people, like this one of Nancy Pelosi:

Since Apple didn't want you to see this picture, I figured I'd put it up on my blog so you could!

Despite Their Claims After The 2000 Election, Democrats Are The Ones That Steal Elections

NY23 was conceded by the Conservative candidate, Doug Hoffman, on election night. He made the decision to concede based on the information that he had received: he was down 5,335 votes with 93% of the vote counted, and was only up 500 votes in his stronghold of Oswego County.

Turns out he was actually up 1,748 votes in Oswego, and trailed by only roughly 3,000 votes with 93% of the vote counted. And the absentee ballots that are still coming are expected to swing to Hoffman.

It should be noted, that liberal, socialist Democrat Bill Owens very well may still end up legitimately winning the election, but Democrats love to try to swing elections anyway they can. Remember the liberal MSM calling Florida in 2000 even though there were still precincts in Florida's panhandle open to voting? The effects of that have never been studied.

So Hoffman conceded on election night thinking he had no chance, and now he may still have had a chance over a week later. Tricky, tricky Democrats getting him to concede on election night.

You can read more about this at:

Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow Spreading Health Care Lies On The Paul W. Smith Show

StabMeNow was on Smith's show on WJR this morning. Amazingly she threw out "facts" and "figures" with no documented evidence as to their accuracy. She was in major spin mode. She dodged, she parried, she tried to show compassion when she had none. It was sickening.

I would have respected her more if she'd just come out and said "yes, we want to control your health care". Her fence-sitting is notorious. She rarely takes a true stance on issues. She tries to agree with everyone verbally, then votes as an extreme left-wing, liberal. She isn't even an ideologue, she is the puppet of ideologues.

Michigan voters should be ashamed of themselves for electing someone this inept.

Book: Onward Christan Athlete

Yesterday Michael Medved had the author of this new book on his show. Click here: Michael Medved Show The book's title is a tad misleading. This is actually a book that is belittling Christian athletes for using their position to push Christian beliefs. Especially the belief that Jesus Christ is THE way, THE truth, and THE life, and that no one cometh to the father but by Him. (John 14:6)

The author, Tom Krattenmaker, spent a lot of time on the Medved show talking about being a Christian progressive, and wanting to change Christianity into a religion that accepts all beliefs. By accepting he means that he doesn't want Christians to preach that Christ is the only way to salvation. Why is he even a Christian?

I must say, one thing I have never liked is when an athlete acts like it was God that caused his team to win. My belief is that God isn't really concerned about the outcome of a sporting event. Now, if the athlete wants to thank God for the talent He gave the athlete, that is fine. But to believe that God had a direct hand in the outcome, I think, is misguided.

Krattenmaker, in his call to Medved, took former NFL head coach Tony Dungy to task for supporting the Biblical definition of marriage. He felt Dungy should have supported homosexual marriage DESPITE Dungy's Christian beliefs. This is where liberal Christians (that is an oxymoron) lose integrity. You can't claim to be a Christian and go against the teachings of Christ.

Christ is clear: He is the only way to salvation, and marriage is between one man and one woman for life. Krattenmaker's willingness to compromise those teachings makes him an anti-Christ, not a Christian. He'd probably find that offensive but I don't care. Christ is clear in the scripture that you are either for Him or against Him. You can't be for Him and be against his teachings. Therefore Krattenmaker is against Him.

The idea that athletes cannot be true to their Christian beliefs is idiotic. Krattenmaker has no problem with liberal stars, in sports or any other pop-culture, espousing their liberal views publicly. But he thinks Christian athletes need to remain quiet about true Christian theology. (And I am not talking about the false doctrine version of Christianity that Krattenmaker preaches.)

Krattenmaker also spoke about a Major League Baseball team's chaplain (sorry, I don't remember the team) that was asked a direct question in a team Christian study. A Christian player asked the volunteer chaplain: "is my Jewish ex-girlfriend going to hell?" The chaplain, using scripture, showed the player that unless she accepts Jesus Christ and His teachings then she was in danger of being lost. Krattenmaker supported the team's decision to dismiss the volunteer chaplain for giving this answer.

Krattenmaker seemed appalled that one would think their religion was the only truth. Medved, who is Jewish, said he had no problem with the CHRISTIAN chaplain teaching Christianity. Medved's stance was that the chaplain was moved by his faith to do what he did because his beliefs instructed him to do so.

Krattenmaker obviously has no true concept of religion, sin, and redemption. You can't be a true Christian and think that people that deny Christ, which those that practice Judaism do, are saved. The whole point of Christianity is that Christ is the Messiah! By extension, true followers of Judaism have to think that Christians are lost because, in their estimation, Christians are following a false messiah! Krattenmaker doesn't seem to understand the basic tenets of the religions he discusses.

I don't mean to bash Krattenmaker as I am sure he is sincere in his beliefs. I just think those beliefs are grossly misguided, as is the basic theme behind his entire book.

NBC Wants To Brainwash You

Environwhackos have run a muck since I was child. I didn't realize that until my wife brought home the DVD of ABC's Schoolhouse Rock from the library for my daughter to watch. My wife was feeling nostalgic and she remembered being a kid and watching the shorts on Saturday mornings.

I was shocked at the number of environmentally whacked out themes in Schoolhouse Rock. I guess they were lost on me as a child. I have had several discussions with my daughter on why some people feel the need to worship the earth, and put it above all else.

Then I read this story:

Click here: NBC enlists prime-time programs in green message

The old propaganda tactic: if people won't submit to your way of thinking then bombard them with the message until they concede. This sickens me to the point where I am glad that I do not watch network television programming. This kind of thing would drive me nuts.

NBC is allowed to use entertainment programming to program the minds of viewers. Yet the Obama administration is going after Special K cereal because Kellogg has made claims that eating the cereal can have health benefits. So I think I see what Obama is up to. Mislead people toward his line of thinking, that's okay. Mislead people away from his line of thinking, he'll use the powers of the federal government to go after you.

NBC should be ashamed of themselves. People do not tune in to television shows to be bombarded with political messages. They tune in to shows to escape real life and be entertained. I'd love to see this backfire and for NBC's ratings to tank.

Maybe that would be the final nail in General Electric (owner of NBC) CEO Jeff Immelt's coffin. Immelt has taken a business that Jack Welch built up, and is tearing it down piece by piece. GE is allowing NBC to brainwash people while they are entertaining them. That is unconscionable.

Chinese Artist Unveils "Burning Man Obama" Sculpture

Wow. Not sure what to say about this. Reuters puts it thusly:

"A sculpture by Chinese artist Liu Bolin titled "Burning Man Obama" is tested at a workshop in Beijing November 11, 2009. The sculpture represents U.S. President Barack Obama's impact on the world."

Burning impact on the world? Maybe this is an appropriate expression of art! After all, at a minimum, Obama is burning our nation, the voters that supported him, and all of us that pay taxes.

I think this was meant as a compliment. I see it as more a statement on his idiotic policies.

Moron Of The Week: Chicago Mayor Daley

13 people dead. 30 others wounded. Who is to blame for this senseless act of violence?

According to Chicago Mayor, "Moron" Daley, it was "American's love of guns".

Click here: Big Government: Chicago Mayor Daley blames Ft. Hood on America's love of guns

Really? I thought Ft. Hood was because of a hatred of America by an Islamic jihadist. Guess I was wrong.

Chicago is not known for its modern day, intelligent politicians. It seems like every politician from Chicago and Illinois these days is a corrupt moron. Barack Obama is exhibit A. Rod Blagojevich is exhibit B. And I now present Richard Daley as exhibit C. Abraham Lincoln is rolling in his grave over these three.

One Muslim Died For His Crimes, Another Is Out Of His Coma

I remember the 2002 D.C. area shootings very well. I remember even hearing the news accounts of the fear these shootings caused while vacationing in St. Thomas. When they finally caught John Allen Muhammad and Lee Malvo, and brought them to justice, there was nationwide relief especially in the D.C. area.

With 9/11, the anthrax mailings, and then the D.C. sniper case, the sense of unease in our nation was palpable. Since late 2002, that unease had given way to a sense of security once again. After 7 years, without a major incident of Islamo-terrorism on our own soil, we once again were lulled into feeling secure in our own nation.

All that blew up in our face last week when an Islamic jihadist shot and killed 13, and wounded 30 others, at Ft. Hood in Texas. Coincidentally, less than a week later, another Muslim shooter was executed for his crimes 7 years ago.

Click here: Defiant DC sniper mastermind Muhammad executed

Now there are reports that Ft. Hood shooter, Nidal Malik Hasan, is awake and talking. If true, I long for the day when he too will face justice for the crimes he has committed.

I am often asked how I can be for the death penalty, and be a Christian. To me the answer is easy: God authorizes government to exercise judgment and justice, including the death penalty. The details for that are for a different day, but that is how I believe.

That our nation has to fight Islamo-terrorists abroad and at home is a sad reality. Maybe this cry of political correctness that the left has been crying since 9/11 will go away. Sometimes profiling is necessary, and as details of Hasan and his past continue to leak, it is apparent that this guy should have been under surveillance.

On another note, yesterday I had a very liberal coworker expressing her consternation over why Hasan wasn't under surveillance. "Someone should be in trouble for this!" she exclaimed. I bit my tongue. I have known her for nearly 3 years, and she has spent that time bashing Bush and Cheney for the patriot act. Her and her ilk should share in that "trouble".

Andre Agassi, A Couple Of Weeks Later

It has been a couple of weeks since Andre Agassi came out with details, from his new autobiography, of his use of crystal meth. My initial reaction to this confession can be found at this link:

Click here: Sometimes You Have To Deal With Difficult Subjects

Now that some time has passed it has become clear that Andre is very sorry for the decision that he made. I came to this realization after watching his interview with Katie Couric for 60 Minutes. You can view that at this link:

Click here: Andre Agassi interview on 60 Minutes

I found Andre in this interview to be very penitent. The remorse comes through in his words and in his expression. This is a man that has been pained with his decision to use a drug, and then to lie about its use.

The most telling part for me was when he said: "In life most bad decisions lead to more bad decisions..."

I wrote that very thing two weeks ago upon learning about all of this. Sometimes when we get caught in a sin we lie about that sin. Read the book of Genesis about Cain's killing of his brother Abel. When God confronts Cain, Cain lies that he doesn't know where his brother is. He utters the infamous words: "Am I my brother's keeper?"

Of course we are our brother's keepers. That involves many things. Andre in this interview asks for compassion. I give him that as a brother in the human-race. He made a mistake, as we all have. He has finally owned up to that mistake, unlike most of us.

As Andre points out, this is not about a performance-enhancing drug. In fact, this hurt his tennis not helped it. For Martina Navratilova and others to suggest that he needs to be stripped of his titles, or for him to willingly give them up, is preposterous. To look at him as someone that turned his life around after a horrible decision would be better.

Andre probably should have come clean back in 1997, took the punishment that was coming to him, and lived with the consequences. Like most of us he chose to try and take an easy way out. He has had to live with this secret for 12 years. I feel that he has been punished enough by carrying that burden.

I will be buying Andre's book, Open, and reading it.
