Now We Aren't Even Entitled To Dissenting Gay-Marriage Opinions

Apparently Miss California made the shocking statement that marriage should be between one man and one woman during the Miss USA pageant last night. How dare she! Seriously, what have we become when someone can't even hold their own opinion on this topic:

Here is the quote that really irks me:

Keith Lewis, who runs the Miss California competition, tells that he was "saddened" by Prejean's statement.

"As co-director of the Miss California USA, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman," said Lewis in a statement. "I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit. I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone and religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family."

So Prejean can't decide for herself what her opinion on gay marriage is? Have we really come to a point where dissenting opinions aren't allowed anymore? Prejean was asked what her opinion was, she gave it. It isn't like she took the opportunity with an open mike to espouse her feelings on the subject. In fact, when you read her comment she sounds like she would rather not have been asked that question.

Where is the outrage over Perez Hilton even asking the question? It was a ridiculous question during a pageant like this, and it has been an even more ridiculous reaction to her answer. If you don't like the answer, then don't ask the question.

This has always been the problem with the gay rights movement, they can't tolerate opposing opinions. They want acceptance in all realms. If you think homosexuality is morally wrong then you are an evil, murdering, insane, stupid individual and are likened to Hitler and every other figure of evil the world has known.

There may be behaviors I engage in that they think are morally wrong, like shooting sharpened sticks out of a bow and into juicy, delicious animals. While I will vehemently fight for my right to hunt, I am not going to question some one's character simply because they don't think I should have that right.

So not only do they want you to be quiet, now they want you to not even hold an anti-gay marriage opinion. Or at a minimum I guess they wanted Prejean to lie about her opinion when asked the question.

Perez Hilton asked the question? How brave. That'd be like going to a Code Pink rally and asking people whether they're against the Iraq war.

Great commentary. Yes, the rules are clear. Just stop thinking and read from the liberal talking points and you'll be ok.
