This Is All A Little Too Convenient

A few weeks ago the White House sent up a smokescreen. They announced they would allow expanding offshore oil drilling. Of course, those on the left claimed that Obama was moving to the right. They feigned outrage at the plan saying he was going against his leftist, environmental base.

Those of us on the right were skeptical. After all, after Sarah Palin coined the phrase "Drill, baby, drill!" on the 2008 campaign trail, Obama suggested you could gain just as much through oil consumption savings by checking the air in your car's tires. Idiot.

Many of us knew what the expanded oil drilling announcement was about: votes. After a widely unpopular health care bill was shoved down the American people's throats, Obama tried to stay the tide of anti-Democrat sentiment by announcing the White House sponsored expansion of new offshore drilling. Those of us that knew better knew that the chance of this ever coming to fruition was little to none.

Then last week the explosion on a gulf coast drilling platform made national news. Word of an oil leak spread. Shouts against offshore drilling were immediate. Liberal environwhackos immediately harped on the administration's policy to expand offshore drilling. And now the White House is backing away from that policy:

I am sorry, but this is all a little too coincidental. A little too convenient. Obama tries to play to the right with his announcement, and a couple weeks later the U.S. suffers a very rare, as well as its biggest and worst offshore drilling platform disaster. Ever.

I'll be interested in where the "truthers" (those that think Bush was behind 9/11) come down on this one. Am I suggesting that Obama may be behind the explosion on the offshore drilling platform? I think it is possible. It is much more likely than Bush masterminding the 9/11 attacks.

I'll be interested in the outcome of the investigation. I truly believe that sabotage was at play here regardless of who is ultimately behind it.
