So by now most of you have heard about the Helen Thomas flack. Apparently, she spoke off the cuff and told Jews to leave Palestine. She then went on to say they should go back to Poland and Germany.
Amazingly, she kept her job for a month after saying all that. Compared to Don Imus, who said something a fraction as incendiary, and was out within a week. Or Jimmy The Greek, whose remarks way back in 1988, while more inappropriate than Imus', got him fired immediately. And then there is the whole Rush Limbaugh/Donovan McNabb stuff that got Rush dismissed from ESPN in a minute.
But Helen Thomas suggests that a whole group of people return to the place where 6 million of them were slaughtered less than 70 years ago, and she keeps right on working until the outcry becomes so great that even the most liberal administration in United States presidential history has to say something about it. Ridiculous.
Then again, I didn't even know that Helen Thomas was still alive. And this picture doesn't do much to prove it.
