Obama, Corporations, And The Little Guy

For nearly two years, while campaigning for his presidential run, Barack Obama sold Americans on the idea that he was for the little guy. Corporations evil, worker good. Tarzan loves Jane. GRUNT!

Then came the actual presidency and nothing could be further from the truth. Bailouts for big businesses, but the little guy is still on the hook for houses that are worth half what the little guy owes on it. So Obama passes a "stimulus" bill to heat up the economy. Of course, the bulk of that money goes to states and local governments, so they can pay, you guessed it, businesses to fix roads, and bridges, and build more government buildings. Pet projects all.

So where did the concern for the little guy go? Well I maintain it was never really there. Obama paid lip service to it to get the little guy's vote, but in the end he is a shill for the same controlling interests as most other politicians.

Surely, anti-big business Obama would hold a big business oil company's feet to fire for creating the worst oil spill in history, right? Ummmm, no. Obama has instead been doing a romantic tango with BP since the oil spill began. And, of course, it has nothing to do with BP contributing more to Obama's campaign than to any other candidate. Nothing to see there. Ignore the man behind the curtain.

Then there is this:

Click here for story: U.S. Plans Cyber Shield for Utilities, Companies
The federal government is launching an expansive program dubbed "Perfect Citizen" to detect cyber assaults on private companies and government agencies running such critical infrastructure as the electricity grid and nuclear-power plants, according to people familiar with the program.

Those companies need government cyber-protection, right? In the meantime, criminals are free to steal your identity and put you into overwhelming debt without any government intervention. Oh, but feel free to work with all of the lenders to untangle the knot that is identity theft yourself. You might want to take some time off of work to wade into the red-tape that is created from identity theft.

So Obama for the little guy? HA! Don't you dopes that got duped into that one feel brilliant?
